Week 1 Day 1

                           Project Beginning- Week 1 Day 1

 The beginning of the eight week period where I will begin to start my final project for AICE Media Studies has begun. Today, I found out who will be in my group. It will be me, Sloan, and Sydney. I chose these people to be in my group since I know they are both very hardworking and will put a lot of effort into this project, It also helps that we are friends. I discussed with them some ideas that I had for the final project. I said how we should pursue the coming of age genre for the film since we have been doing a lot of research on this specific genre. I also discussed with them some potential plotlines of our film. For example, one of my ideas were of a young girl and her bestfriends growing up together and going through all phases of their life. My ideas include the main character going through some sort of issue and she meets her friend at a young age who will help her through her life and her struggles. Some struggles the character could be going through a breakup, family issues, or even a friendship. The protagonist and the best friend go through life together and it is a beautiful story of two best friends going through girl hood together. I know that me personally, having a girl best friend who has helped me through life and we have watch one another grow up has been very impactful and I'm grateful for her. I also discussed with them how we should plan our filming times. I said we should use our time wisely and keep being focused until filming day and they agreed.

As I was discussing my ideas to my group and they were also coming up with other ideas for the opening. I also discussed how much narrative will be included, what clothes the characters should be wearing, what shots we should use, editing techniques, and how we can incorporate sounds to add an effect on the viewer. For example, the characters should wear modern clothes to show that they are in high school in the year 2024. These are very important elements in film since they make the audience feel and evoke emotions. I plan to keep week one as a planning period and to continue working on what I want to have in the opening. Planning is very important to this project because without proper planning my group and I can not be as organized and not be focused. I hope to continue with my planning with my group and to start working on the storyboards an script by next week.
