Week 2 Day 4

                                          Storyboards- Week 2 Day 4

Today is day four and it is the second week of the project. I started our storyboards today since my group and I have figured out our story for the opening and have given out roles to one another. The storyboards consist of the actions being done, camera shots being taken, camera movement, music, dialogue, sounds, lighting, location, narration, mise en scene, equipment needed, and set designs. The story will be of two best friends and how when they reach high school they get pulled into certain friend groups and start to figure out who they want to be. They end up being completely different from one another. Sloan's character, Grace is quiet, smart, and preppy while my character, Serena, is loud, parties, and messy. They still stay friends but their different priorities make them drift apart. The story mainly shows how the girls start to fight and not understand one another. Some camera shots that will be used are aerial shots, pans, tracking shots, long shots, mid shots, close ups, master shots, and over the shoulder shots. These all will add to the effect of the opening since since they will give the viewer a vision to the scene. Camera movements are important since they make the film more interesting and can really add to it. Camera movements that will be used are Steadicams, reverse zooms, pans, action matches, and tracking shots. Music will be played also, in the beginning it will be 2 different songs. One for Grace which will be more ambient and one for Serena that will be more discordant. They will be different vibes to give to the characters and their personalities, hence the traits listed above. The credits will be rolling in through the first 5 shots. Narration and dialogue will be present in the very beginning and when necessary since this will make the viewer understand more. Dialogue and thoughts are really important since it sets the foundation of the opening and how the viewer should feel towards each character. They might feel some dislike towards Serena since she isn't a good friend. While others will feel empathy for Grace because she is losing her friend. Lighting is important since different times of the day give off different saturations. When a scene takes place in the morning natural light will be used more but if a shot is at night it will be more low key lighting. Locations of the filing will be shot at my house, Sydney's house, and our school. That is what I accomplished today with the story boards. I will finish them up tomorrow
