Week 3 Day 10

Filming - Day 10

 Today is day 10. This was the first day of filming. We filmed most of the scenes for my character, Serena. The location was at my house. Today I woke up extra early and filmed the master shot of my house since it is taken place in the morning. I had the Steadicam, so I used that for this shot. I also filmed a bunch of shots of me sleeping in different lightings since this was also one of shots. I tried my best with taping my phone to the ceiling but eventually just asked Sloan for help once she got to my house and she recorded me from above. Then once Sloan and Sydney came to my house we filmed the rest of the scenes with Serena in it. This included me being awaken by Grace's phone call and rushing to get ready, my part of the fight at the end of our film, and the car scenes, driving to school, and my distance towards Grace. Props included a Steadicam, tripod, car mount, and microphone. What I specifically did was help set up the room to be as messy as possible and block out any incoming light. I also helped with picking which scenes look the best since we did multiple takes of the same scenes to see what looked better. I also helped with keeping the props at my house in a safe place. That is all I did for today. Later I was looking back and notice that the background of the scene of Serena being awaken by Grace's phone call was not well done since we didn't even notice the background filled with equipment. This is an easy fix which I can do any day. I also need to film another master shot of my house but at night to notify the audience of the time change. My group and I already made a date to get together to reshoot that shot. We tried our best to retake the shots to see which ones out of all of them we like and it worked! I ended up only changing a few thing from our original plan. For example, instead of dong a tracking shot of my backside running to the bathroom we will film how my feet go to the ground and start running. I wanted this change because we can easily make it parallel to Grace waking up. Once we film at Sydney's house we will mirror this exact shot but for Grace to add parallelism. Other than that most of our work was done and are very close to being done with the opening. Here is some behind the scenes!
